Search For Missing Elderly Man Ends Well

 

 

Deputies from the Hall County Sheriff's Office spent the day searching for an elderly east Hall  man. Disoriented he apparently walked away from his granddaughters residence in Harmony East Subdivision, just south of Gainesville, early Thursday morning.

 

Juan Laureano, a Hispanic male, age 86 of Gainesville was described as a white male, 5”6’ tall & 150 lbs, he was reportedly wearing a grey shirt with black dress pants and black shoes.

 

Deputies began a search for him in the Harmony East Subdivision area around 8:30 A.M. Thursday morning and continued their efforts throughout the day. Deputies brought in tracking dogs and a Georgia State Patrol Helicopter during the search.

 

Around 4 PM the Hall County Sheriff's Office began to conduct a massive ground search of the area while investigators canvassed the neighborhood handing out fliers with the mans photo.

 

At approximately 5:30 PM, Mr. Laureano was located about a mile away from his home in a heavily wooded area by Deputies conducting a ground grid search.

 

Mr. Laureano was in good condition with only minor scratches. He was reunited with his family and then transported to the NEGMC by ambulance for evaluation.
