Major Terry Conner

Administrative Services Commander

 

         Major Terry Conner commands the Administrative Services Division of the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.  This includes the Office of Professional Standards, Training Division, Internal Affairs Division, Records Division, Victim/Witness Unit, Administrative Staff, and the Reserves Unit.  He has been employed with the Sheriff’s Office for 20 years.

       Major Conner is a 1980 graduate of Gainesville High School; a 1983 graduate of Gainesville College with an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a 1986 graduate of Brenau College with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Criminal Justice.  While attending Brenau, Major Conner was named to the National Honor Dean’s List for Academic Excellence.  Major Conner received his POST certification as a Georgia Peace Officer in 1986.

          His associations include the National Youth Sports Coaches Association, the Fraternal Order of Police (local lodge) and Fraternal Order of Elks (Gainesville Lodge).  Major Conner has served as a volunteer Youth Sports Coach with the YMCA and Gainesville City Parks and Recreation including coaching baseball, basketball and football.  He, along with his wife and children, attend Lakewood Baptist Church.   

Major Conner has been the recipient of many awards and recognitions during his career including the 1997 Optimist International Law Enforcement Award for his distinguished and dedicated service to this community.

Administrative Staff

 

    Melissa Bollinger is the Administrative Assistant to Sheriff Steve Cronic.  She has been with the Sheriff’s Office for seven years.

 

    Before beginning her career with the Sheriff’s Office Melissa was a paralegal with a law firm in their estate planning division.

 

    Melissa is a 1988 Cum Laude graduate of Brenau College with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Masters Degree in Business Administration. While at Brenau she held many offices including president of her sorority.  After graduating from Brenau she went on to get her certification as a paralegal.

 

 

 

   Vivian Mink began her career for the Sheriff’s Office in April 1993 as a Front Desk Clerk at the Detention Center. During her tenure with the Sheriff’s Office she has worked at Work Release, Criminal Investigations and was promoted to Administrative Secretary and began working for Majors Conner and Ash in May 2007. She was promoted to Administration Secretary 2005, moved Administrative Division May 2007.

 

 

 

   Jim (Bimbo) Brewer is Director of the Victim-Witness Assistance Program for the Hall County Sheriff’s Office. He has been with the Sheriff’s Office for seven years. Previous to his service in the Victim-Witness area for HCSO, he worked in the same area with the Northeast District Attorney’s Office.

 

   He is a graduate of Gainesville High School and attended North Georgia College and The University of Georgia, where he received a Degree in Journalism.

 

   Brewer worked for years as a reporter and Editor for The Daily Times in Gainesville, The Commerce News, and the Duluth-Norcross News.  He was also Director of Student Concerns and Director of the Public Relations at Brenau College (now Brenau University) and was instrumental in creating and maintaining the Brenau School of Equestrian Sciences.

 

    He is a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and has served as a Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster and District Commissioner with the Boy Scouts of America.

 

   Brewer and his wife, Nancy, have a daughter, Erin, and two grandsons, Benjamin and Jackson. They, along with Erin’s husband, Blue Still, are members of Lakewood Baptist Church

 

 

   Anita Kaye Buffington is a Victim Witness Advocate for Hall County Sheriff’s Office. She has been employed since June2004.

 

   Anita started her career working as a Detention Officer. She also worked in Inmate Services as a Classification Officer.

 

   Anita completed the Northeast Ga. Police Academy in September 2006 where she also received the honor of the Top Gun for her class.

 

   She is 1982 graduate of North Hall High School. Following graduation Anita joined the U.S. Navy where she spent 8 years serving her country in many parts of the world. While enlisted, Anita made rank of E-5 Hull Maintenance Technician.  Anita attended school in San Diego, Calif. and completed her training to become a certified Welder.

 

   Anita loves to garden, scuba dive and spending time with family; Anita is also active in her community and is a member of Chestatee Baptist church.

 

 

   Sgt Stephanie Gilbert is the Records Supervisor for the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.  She has been employed since November of 1989.

 

   Stephanie began her career with the Sheriff’s Office as a Secretary.  She was promoted to Records Supervisor in February 1993 and graduated the Police Academy in June 1993.  Stephanie currently supervises six employees and is responsible for maintaining all departmental records

 

 

 

   Betty McFall is the Assistant Supervisor in the Records Division of the Hall County Sheriffs Office.  She has been employed by Hall County Sheriffs Office for 6 years.

 

   Betty is a 1960 graduate of Cullowhee High School in Cullowhee, North Carolina and a graduate of Cecil’s Business College in Spartanburg, South Carolina with a degree in Business Administration. 

 

   Betty and her husband, Roger, live in the South Hall area and have 8 children, 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

 

 

    Sergeant Tammy Anderson Crawford, an eighteen year employee for Hall County, presently serves in the Office of Professional Standards as Accreditation/Certification Manager for the Hall County Sheriff's Office.  Sergeant Crawford's first steps into leadership as a Law Enforcement Officer began in the Hall County Detention Center, where she acquired valuable knowledge as the foundation of a dedicated officer. Sergeant Crawford received her POST certification as a Georgia Peace Officer in1996.

 

    Sergeant Crawford has served in Traffic Enforcement on the Grid Unit of Patrol and was a member of the Hall County Sheriff's Office R.E.D.D.O.G. Team. She is also certified in the operation of Intoximeter, Radar and Laser.  Sergeant Crawford served In the Uniform Patrol Division for nine years.  She was promoted to Sergeant in 2006, and began serving in her current position as Accreditation/Certification Manager. She also is the coordinator for the Incident Command & Communications Mobile Command Unit

 

    Sergeant Crawford is a 1989 graduate of North Hall High School and has received several credits from Gainesville College. Sergeant Crawford has received several commendations derived from community members expressing gratitude for the unified and professional demonstration exemplified in successfully capturing suspects.

 

    Sergeant Crawford was named Officer of The Year in 2004 by the Gainesville Post of the American Legion and was a recipient of the John W. Jacobs Senior Memorial Award for Excellence in Law Enforcement from the Gainesville Kiwanis Club.

 

    Sergeant Crawford, along with her husband and son, attend church at the Northside Family Worship Center, where she is a member and serves in the children's department.

 

    Sergeant Crawford, being born, educated and employed in Hall County visions to remain and continue making a positive difference in the Hall County Community

 

 

   Robin Kemp is a 24 year veteran Law Enforcement Officer. He started his career in Law Enforcement with the Gainesville Police Department in 1983. During his tenure with the Gainesville Police Department Robin served in several different capacities: dispatcher, jailor, patrolman, Municipal Court Probation officer, criminal investigator, internal affairs investigator, and at one time was detached, as an investigator, to the Hall County District attorney’s office. Robin’s specialty in criminal investigations was the investigation of White Collar Crime.

 

   Robin started his employment with the Hall County Sheriff’s Department in 2003 where he assigned as an investigator with the Internal Affairs unit. Since that time, Robin was promoted to Sergeant, Internal Affairs, and most recently to Lieutenant, Internal Affairs.

 

   Robin graduated from Johnson High School, Gainesville, Georgia in 1974. He attended Gainesville College and graduated from Brenau College in 1991 with Bachelors of Science Degree in Criminal Justice, and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Public Service in 1995.

 

   Aside from his duties with the Sheriff’s Department, Robin is adjunct faculty member with the University of Phoenix, on-line, where he has been teaching courses in criminal justice since 2002.

 

 

 

   Lieutenant Michael Myers is the Training Director and Assistant SWAT Team Commander for the Hall County Sheriff Office. After serving four years in the United States Army he was employed with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office in 1987.

 

   Lieutenant Myers has worked as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Traffic Enforcement Officer, Hit and Run Investigator, Juvenile Investigator, Corporal, Training Sergeant, and now directs and coordinates all training for the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.

 

   Lieutenant Myers received his POST certification in 1988 and his teaching certification in 1995. Along with his many certifications Lieutenant Myers is a Georgia certified Firearms Instructor, Driving Instructor, and Defensive Tactics Instructor. He also holds the rank of 5th degree Black Belt in Karate. He has completed every level of supervision and management training through the state of Georgia and is a 2007 graduate of the FBI national Academy.

 

   Lieutenant Myers has received many awards over his career to include an “Academic Excellence Award” from the Georgia Public Training Center, was named “Officer of the Year” in 2002, and received the Kiwanis Club Memorial Award.

 

 

 

   Sr. Sgt. Marshall is a 21 year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office.  In 1987 he graduated from the Northeast Georgia Police Academy.  SSgt. Marshall has worked in the Patrol Division on day and night shifts, was a Field Training Officer, and Shift Crime Scene Technician.  SSgt. Marshall has also worked in the Criminal Investigative Division as; crime scene technician, white collar crimes investigator, property crimes, auto theft, crimes against persons, and juvenile crimes.

  

   Marshall was on the Sheriff’s Office Dive Team for ten years and was team commander for two years, recovering numerous victims / evidence from the waters of Lake Lanier and other areas around the state.  He is a PADI SCUBA instructor and Public Safety Dive Instructor.

 

   Marshall came to the Training Division in 2003 and enjoys training new officers as they begin their careers in public safety.  Marshall has over 3,000 training hours and numerous instructor ratings.

 

 
 

 

   Sgt. Bonner Burton is the newest member of the Hall County Sheriff’s Office training staff.  He has been employed with the county since 1995.  In that time, he has worked in a variety of assignments including the Jail, the Uniform Patrol Division, and Special Operations.  Sgt. Burton has also been a School Resource Officer.  He has a number of specialty certifications, and presently is working towards an undergraduate degree.  Sgt. Burton is the Assistant Commander of the Hall County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard.
