The Hall County Sheriff's Office Underwater Search and Recovery Unit was formed on March 1, 1979, making it the oldest non-volunteer Law Enforcement Dive Team in the State of Georgia.  Currently, there are nine members on the unit, all of which are certified law enforcement officers.  Since it's inception, the unit has responded to over 125 drownings on Lake Sidney Lanier and the surrounding waters of North Georgia.
