On Tuesday May 4th at 6:07 p.m. the Hall County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the residence of 2784 Dorsey Peek Road. The call was in reference to a 4 year old who was found unconscious in the swimming pool at that residence.
Fire & EMS responded along with law enforcement to find the homeowner performing CPR on the child.
Upon investigation, it was discovered that Cheyenne Brooks, 4 years of age, was playing with a neighborhood friend at her residence when they went across the street to get in the friend’s pool without permission. The neighbor was unaware that the children had returned and got in the pool when she heard her daughter crying for help outside. The homeowner removed the 4 year old from the pool and began CPR while Fire & EMS was en route.
The 4 year old was transported to the NEGMC by Hall County EMS to where she was pronounced deceased.
No charges were filed at the time of the incident. The incident is still under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division.
