Deputies Searching for Elderly North Hall Man

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office is currently searching for Donald Porter Winkler, age 74 of Gainesville. Mr. Winkler left Lanier Bait & Pawn near Murrayville at approximately 4:30 p.m. 08-05-04 to go to a location on Dawsonville Hwy. Mr. Winkler, who was last seen driving his red in color 1996 Ford F-150 tag # 492 NAJ, has since failed to return home or contact family. A witness states that Mr. Winkler was seen in his vehicle on Mount Vernon Road near the intersection of Thompson Bridge Road at approximately 5:00 p.m. Family has reported that Mr. Winkler has the onset of Alzheimer’s. |

Mr. Winkler is described to be a white male 5’9” in height & 175 pounds, brown eyes and grey hair. He was last seen wearing denim overalls and a plaid shirt. Mr. Winkler is a woodcutter by trade, has a tag on the front of his vehicle that reads “Hulsey’s Tree Service”.
