
Deputies from the Hall County Sheriff's Office use tracking dogs from Lee Arrendale State Prison in Alto to capture a local fugitive.
On Thursday, July 8, 2004 at 11:10 deputies attempted to serve a parole warrant at a residence in the 5600 block of Bogus Road. As deputies arrived the fugitive, 24-year-old Theodore Matthew Samples, fled into the woods on foot.
Deputies requested assistance from the Lee Arrendale State Prison K-9 unit. The tracking dog was used to track the fugitive through the woods to Nopone Road. There at approximately 12:35 the fugitive was captured.
Samples was transported to the NEGMC and treated for heat exhaustion before being taken to the Hall County Detention Center.
He is now held without bond.
The incident remains under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff's Office.
