Sheriff’s Deputy Shot At During Traffic Stop

 

 

A Hall County Sheriff’s Deputy was shot at after stopping a late model Toyota Camry on Browns Bridge Road at the intersection of Skelton Road shortly after 10:00 PM, Friday night.

 

The Deputy spotted Christopher Michael Quinones, age 25, of Gainesville, in the vehicle, the deputy was familiar with the perpetrator and new he had numerous outstanding warrants on him including an Aggravated Assault Warrant from an earlier incident.

 

As he pulled the vehicle over the perpetrator, Christopher Michael Quinones jumped from the vehicle and fled on foot. The Deputy chased after him until the perpetrator turned and fired several gunshots at the Deputy.

 

The Deputy was forced to dive to the ground to avoid being shot and was slightly injured. He was treated and released from the NEGMC with minor injuries.

 

During the incident the driver, Latoya Bledson, age 28, of Gainesville, fled in the perpetrator vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle a short time later abandoned in the parking lot of Pine Cove Apartments. She was later arrested on Biscayne Drive and charged with Obstruction and Fleeing and Attempting to Elude and booked into the Hall County Detention Center.

 

The Sheriffs Office asks anyone with information about the whereabouts of Christopher Michael Quinones to call the Hall County Sheriff's Office at 770-536-8812.

 

Christopher Michael Quinones has 21 outstanding warrants against him including 1 counts of Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer. Extreme Caution should be used around the suspect and he is considered armed and dangerous.

 

Deputies searched into the night for the suspect using K-9, Georgia State Patrol Helicopters and the Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team but were unable to locate the perpetrator. All leads where exhausted and deputies felt that the suspect had made his way out of the neighborhood before deputies left the area.

 

The incident is still under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff's Office and the search for the suspect continues.
