Gainesville Man Arrested After Pursuit From Dawson Counter Enters North Hall

 

Deputies arrest a Gainesville man shortly after Dawson County Deputies pursued him into northwestern Hall County.

 

The Dawson County Sheriff’s Office pursued a green, 1993 Ford Explorer into northwestern Hall County on Price Road just after 2:20 P.M.. The pursuit led to Ledan Extension where the perpetrator attempted to hide behind a residence. There he struck the homeowners vehicle and continued to Leach Circle where the driver later identified as 44 year old, Charles E Simpson, fled the vehicle on foot into the woods.

 

The K-9 tracking unit from Lee Arrendale State Prison was called in to assist. The tracking dogs tracked the perpetrator to a boat dock on Chestatee Road where Simpson was found hiding under the boat dock in Lake Lanier.

 

The perpetrator was arrested and transported back to the Dawson County Detention Center and charged with

 

1. No Seatbelt 5. Fleeing & Attempting to Elude
2. Wrong Side of Road 6. D.U.I.
3. Failure to Maintain Lane 7. Suspended License
4. Reckless Driving  

 

Charles Simpson

 

Upon release from Dawson County Sheriff's Office, Simpson will be transferred to the Hall County Detention Center to be charged with the following:     

 

1. Reckless Driving 4. Fleeing & Attempting to Elude
2. Leaving the Scene of an Accident 5. Obstruction (M)
3. Suspended License 6. Probation Violation Warrant

               

No one was injured.

 

The incident remains under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff's Office.
