The Hall County Multi Agency Narcotics Squad (MANS) was formed in 1989 and is currently operating at full staff,  in its twentieth year, since its original inception.

The Hall County Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad is a joint venture with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Gainesville Police Department. The office is comprised of investigators from both the Hall County Sheriff’s Office as well as the Gainesville Police Department.

The Hall County MANS is the only local drug enforcement unit operating exclusively within Hall County. MANS operates under the umbrella of the Federal Bureau of Investigation as participants in one of the FBI’s “Safe Streets” Task Forces. The Federal Bureau of Investigation has one full time Special Agent assigned to the Unit.

The FBI provides leased vehicles for Task Force Agents as well as compensating each Agent’s home agency with overtime reimbursements, training, and equipment which aids in day to day investigative efforts combating drug dealers in the community.

Additionally, members from the Hall County Sheriff’s Office and the Gainesville Police Department’s Uniformed Patrol Division and Criminal Investigations Division work hand in hand with MANS Agents with their effort combating the drug problem in Gainesville,  Hall County, Ga.

Lastly, the MANS also provides criminal intelligence information, manpower, equipment and other resources to its member agencies and other local government offices and departments involving joint investigations.
