Missing Child Recovered After 35 Minute Search

On January 12, 2004, at 12:52PM the Hall County Sheriff's Office responded to the 5000 block of Loving Drive off Old Orr Road to a report of a missing 4-year-old child.

Upon arrival, deputies where advised that a 4- year- old white male child had wondered away from his yard into the woods looking for his dog. After searching the wooded area the mother called the Sheriff’s Office for help.

Deputies, assisted by detectives, the fire department, the Georgia State Patrol, and a tracking dog began to search the area.

Within 35 minutes, a citizen flagged down Georgia State Patrol, Trooper Jason Thompson and advised him the child was standing on Hog Mountain Road. The Trooper quickly recovered the child and turned him over to Hall County Deputies.

The child, who had walked almost a mile, was cold but unharmed. He was quickly reunited to his much-relived mother.

Deputies where minutes away from issuing Hall County’s first (A CHILD IS MISSING ALERT) since implementing the program last week when the child was recovered.
