Sheriff Steve Cronic Attends Advanced Training

 

 

Sheriff Steve Cronic was one of eighty-six Georgia Sheriffs who attended the Georgia Sheriff’s Associations Winter Training Conference in Atlanta January 27 – 29. Sheriff’s attending the three-day conference studied issues such as Federal Tools for Law Enforcement, Media Relations, Campaign Reporting, and Legislative Issues. Class on Thursday morning included a trip to the Capitol where Sheriffs met with legislators to discuss issues pertinent to the Office of Sheriff. “This training ensures we receive the ideas and information necessary to perform our demanding jobs,” stated Sheriff Steve Cronic

The mission of the Georgia Sheriff’s Association is to enhance the effectiveness and professionalism of the Office of Sheriff through legislative, training, crime prevention, and crime awareness initiatives. The Georgia Sheriff’s Association provides numerous training opportunities for Sheriff’s.

Changes impact the criminal justice profession almost daily. Sheriff Steve Cronic knows he must be up to speed on the latest advances and best practices in crime fighting and jail management. Ongoing education is the key to remaining abreast of the ever changing issues affecting the Office of Sheriff, and it is those educational opportunities that improve professionalism and service to the community.
