For Immediate Release: January 28, 2004
On January 28, 2004, at approximately 2:10 PM, the Hall County Sheriff's Office received a call of a Road Rage Incident involving the discharge of a firearm on I-985 near exit 12.
It was reported to deputies that after the victim exited I-985 at exit 12, the perpetrator stopped his vehicle on the side of I-985 and fired 1 round toward the victim.
A lookout was placed on the perpetrator’s vehicles and a short time later deputy’s spotted the vehicle on Jesse Jewell Parkway and Race Street in downtown Gainesville.
Deputies arrested James Price, age 32, of Flowery Branch, Georgia. He was charged with:
1. Aggravated Assault
2. Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime
3. Discharging a Firearm At or Near a Public Road
No one was injured during the incident and deputies did recover a weapon from the perpetrator.
The incident is still under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff's Office, Criminal Investigations Division.
