For Immediate Release: January 1, 2004
On January 1, 2004 at approximately 11:30 am the Hall County Sheriff's Office responded to the 3000 block of Forrest Brook Crossing in the Thousand Oak Subdivision in Eastern Hall County to a call of a shooting.
Upon arrival deputies discovered 2 victims had been shot, a black female who was transported to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center suffering from a gunshot wound and a black male that had suffered a fatal gunshot wound.
The names of the victims are not being released at this time pending the notification of family.
Arrested and charged in the death is John Fitzgerald Pierce, age 39 of Lula, Georgia. He is currently being held at the Hall County Detention Center without bond. He is charged with the following:
Murder
Aggravated Assault
Possession of a Gun During the Commission of a Felony
Cruelty to Children 2nd Degree
The incident is currently under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff's Office, Criminal Investigation Division.
