Captain Donnie Jarrard, Commander

            Captain Donnie Jarrard is the Commander of the Hall County Sheriff’s Office Uniform Patrol Division. This includes uniformed patrol first responding units to 911 calls, the Traffic Enforcement Unit, the A.D.V.A.N.C.E. Unit, School Resource Officer Program, Dive Team and Honor Guard. He has been employed with the Sheriff’s Office 14 years.

 

            Captain Jarrard is a 1987 graduate of North Hall High School; and received his POST certification as a Georgia Peace Officer in 1994. Captain Jarrard has been married to his wife, Cheryl Jarrard for 18 years and has a son, Brandon who is 14 years of age.

 

         The first assignment he had was in the Detention Center. He later transferred to the Uniform Patrol Division where he worked as a night shift Patrol Officer and then as a Grid and Lake Officer. He was later promoted to the Criminal Investigations Division where he worked as a property crimes investigator.

           

        Since that time he has held such positions as Corporal on Patrol, Sergeant in Special Operations and Assistant Patrol Commander overseeing the Traffic Unit, Grid Unit, Motor Unit, Drug Interdiction Team and patrol shifts. Captain Jarrard was promoted to his current position in 2005.

           

            In his current position his primary responsibilities are the day-to-day operations of serving and providing safety to the citizens of Hall County.

The Patrol Division is the Law Enforcement Division and First Responders of the Hall County Sheriff's Office.

The Hall County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division consists of 113 Patrol Officers.  The officers are assigned to various shifts and units to best serve the citizens of Hall County.

 

Patrol Districts

 

The Uniform Patrol Division operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  In 2006 the Patrol Division answered 174,274 calls for service from citizens of Hall County.  These calls ranged from murder, armed robbery, assaults in progress, speeding autos, lost children and motor vehicle accidents. The Patrol Division logged 2,280,142 miles while patrolling Hall County in 2006.
