The Governor's Office of Highway Safety annual awards luncheon had the feel of the “Price is Right” moment for the Hall County Sheriff's Office.
The Hall County Sheriff's Office was one of ten agencies to draw for a key for the top prize – a fully equipped, over $40,000 Ford expedition – Major Wayne Mock drew the winning key and won the vehicle for Hall County.
Major Wayne Mock was the first officer to select a key and when he turned it it activated the lights and siren announcing to the crowd of over 500 that there was a winner.
The new vehicle, which features over $10,000 in computers, radars, radios, and other police equipment, will be put into service by the Sheriff's Office Traffic Enforcement Unit and will be seen in the community starting today. The deputies involved were very proud to be able to bring home to Hall County the top prize. It is the culmination of a team effort as we strive to keep the citizens of Hall County safe as they travel the roadways of our community. |
