K-9    

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office patrol K-9 Unit was officially formed in April of 2006 with the addition three certified patrol K-9’s purchased with donations from Fieldale Farms, to supplement the two K-9’s purchased with seized drug funds currently in service with the patrol division.   

               The K-9’s assigned to the Patrol division are certified in several areas to include narcotics detection; article search’s / evidence recovery, tracking, building searches, and apprehension.

                The K-9’s have been deployed 211 times on various incidents since April, 2006. Currently the patrol K-9‘s have recovered 20 items of evidentiary value and assisted in the apprehension of 74 fugitives who would otherwise still be at large. These K-9 units have also assisted with the location of lost children and elderly persons who have wandered away from home.
