Rules for Visitation
All visitors must obey all applicable jail rules /or directives from officers
All visitors must refrain from loud talking, disruptive, or dangerous conduct.
Visitors who come to the Detention Center under the influence of alcohol &/or drugs will be turned away and may be subject to arrest.
No firearms, dangerous devices, controlled substances, or other contraband is permitted inside the detention facility. Anyone attempting to bring contraband into the jail is subject to arrest (O.C.G.A. 42-4-13)
If children are brought into the facility they must remain in the care of an adult at all times.
Handbags, diaper bags, carry alls and other valuables must be secured in your vehicle. (Any item brought into the Detention Center is subject to be searched)
There will be no smoking within the Hall County Detention Center
Only those people visiting will be allowed within the detention facility. All others will be required to wait in the parking lot or inside their vehicles.
Visitors may be turned away if they are deemed to pose a threat the the security of the facility.
Visitation for the Hall County Detention Center is subject to cancellation or change due to compelling operational problems to be determined by the facility commander. Visitation is a privilege subject to the following guidelines.
Visiting Inmates
Who May Visit
You must sign in on the visitor's log book.
You must have a valid picture I.D. and comply with all applicable rules.
All minors and children must be accompanied by an adult who can vouch for their identity and age.
Special visit may be obtained by out-of-state visitors. These visits are a one-time only and require appropriate identification.
Which Inmates May Visit
Inmates that have processed through the booking and classification procedures and are currently assigned to permanent housing within the facility.
Inmates that have not lost his/her privileges by violating detention center rules.
Hall County Detention Center visitation schedule will be as follows:
The VISITATION SCHEDULE IS CURRENTLY BEING UPDATED. PLEASE CONTACT THE HALL COUNTY JAIL TO CONFIRM THE APPROPRIATE DAY FOR VISITATION FOR THE INMATE YOU WOULD LIKE TO VISIT. YOUR NAME MUST APPEAR ON THE INMATE'S VISITATION LIST IN ORDER TO VISIT.
4. Each inmate will be allowed one 30 minute visit per week between the hours 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. There will be three visitors, including children allowed during this 30 minute period. All visitors must come at the same time. (The 30 minute rule does not apply to Attorneys and Clergy)
5. Clergy will be allowed to visit through the week during the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Attorneys may visit any time.
Inmate Property
All inmates are issued jail uniforms and jail shoes. Therefore no other clothing or personal items will be accepted. (This does not include court clothing). NO personal hygiene items or tobacco products will be accepted at the detention center. The inmates are allowed to purchase hygiene items through the inmate commissary. Any medication or special needs items must be approved by medical staff.
Court clothes will be accepted no more than 2 days prior to the inmate court date Monday through Friday between the hours of 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. The inmate(s) will be responsible to have these clothes picked up immediately after the court proceeding have concluded. Clothes will be accepted for jury trials or by the written request of the inmate's attorney.
Any inmate who has been found guilty and is a state inmate will be required to have all personal property picked up within 10 working days. Any property remaining at the Detention Center after this time will be disposed of. This property may be picked up between the hours of 10:00 a.m.-10:00 pm. Monday through Friday.
NOTE: All inmates are required to have one set of street clothes at the facility at all times for use when released or transferred.
Inmate Mail
Inmates may only receive mail/magazines received through the United States Postal Service.

3. ONLY APPROVED ITEMS (as outlined in inmate handbook) WILL BE ACCEPTED.
4. All mail for inmates must have the name and address of the sender in the upper left corner of the envelope. Any mail received for an inmate without the return address will be placed in the inmate's file. Any outgoing mail not properly addressed will be returned to the inmate.
5. All incoming inmate mail will be inspected.
Inmate Account
Money is accepted 24 hours per day 7 days per week. Money orders will be accepted through the mail only. No checks will be accepted. Cash only will be accepted at the Detention Center.
Telephones
Each cell block is equipped with collect telephones. Inmates will be allowed use of these telephones from 6:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. daily. Any misuse will result in loss of privilege for an indefinite period of time.
Inmates may NOT receive telephone calls or messages.
In the case of a family emergency, when it is necessary to contact the inmate, call the Detention Center and ask to speak with the Watch Commander.
All outgoing inmate calls are made COLLECT, local and long distance. If you have questions regarding this procedure and the cost, contact your telephone company.
Religious Service
Religious services will be held each Sunday at times determined by the Detention Center Commander. These are for the inmates only and the services are closed to the public.
Bonds
A bond may be made at any time provided the offense is bondable and all the requirements are met.
Bond Types
Property Bonds: A person owning property in Hall County may post a Property Bond if the bond amount does not exceed the amount of the equity in said property and their name appears in the tax books of Hall County or they have a current tax statement in their name. A picture I.D. is required.
NOTE: A person can only be on one property bond at any given time.
Cash Bond: The full amount may be posted in cash. The money will be returned after the case is completed, minus any fines/fees that may be owed.
Professional Bondsman: The arrangements will have to made between the two concerned parties. Hall County cannot become involved at this level.
Out-Of-County Bond: Property owners will have to go to the county concerned and return with a sealed bond. To receive an Out-Of-County Bond from Hall County you will need to know: court, court date and time, charges and the amounts of the bonds in question.
Court Appearances
Any inmate remaining within the Detention Center will be taken for a first appearance hearing. Any future court dates will have to come from the inmate as we do not have that information available.
